Software Developer

About The Role

We are hiring a Senior Software Developer to support a large-scale enterprise application modernization initiative with one of our public sector client. This role is ideal for an experienced full-stack developer with strong systems integration expertise, technical leadership experience, and a background delivering enterprise-level solutions in complex environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business analysts to perform requirements analysis.
• Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical solution architecture.
• Create architecture artifacts and participate in architecture checkpoints.
• Conduct solution design and code walkthroughs.
• Develop, code, integrate, and deploy enterprise application components.
• Prepare technical documentation, user guides, and knowledge transfer materials.
• Develop and execute unit and integration test cases.
• Collaborate with QA teams on functional, performance, and security testing.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to developers, analysts, and testers.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, refactor, and enhance enterprise applications.
• Ensure solutions comply with architecture, security, and quality standards.

Must Have

• 10+ years of software development experience in enterprise multi-platform environments.
• Strong expertise with Java/JEE technologies, including JSP, Servlets, EJB, JDBC, JMS, JNDI.
• Extensive experience building full-stack, multi-tier applications.
• Hands‑on experience with REST APIs, SOAP/WSDL Web Services, JSON, XML, and third‑party system integrations.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture, systems analysis, design methodologies, and software development best practices.
• Experience with Oracle RDBMS, PL/SQL, and enterprise application servers such as WebSphere, WebLogic, and Tomcat.
• Experience using development and design tools such as Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, Visual Studio Code, MS Visio, or PowerDesigner.
• Proven ability to develop secure, scalable, and high‑performing enterprise solutions.
• Experience conducting solution design reviews, code walkthroughs, and technical documentation.
• Strong debugging, refactoring, optimization, and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience leading development teams and delivering enterprise‑scale projects.

Nice to Have

• Experience working within Ontario Public Sector (OPS) or other government environments.
• Knowledge of government architecture standards, security, and privacy guidelines.
• Familiarity with ITIL and project management methodologies.
• Experience working across multiple concurrent enterprise initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder communication, consulting, and leadership skills.
• Experience mentoring technical teams and collaborating with external vendors and partners.
