Job Description
For our client, we are seeking a Head of Agency Marketing to join the team of a leader in the Business Services space. The leader will guide the organization’s external communications and brand visibility strategy, with a strong emphasis on elevating executive presence and strengthening market perception. The role combines strategic oversight, hands‑on narrative development, and cross-functional collaboration to create high-impact communications that resonate across media, events, and industry audiences.
This position will also shape investment decisions, editorial standards, and the approach to major moments that reinforce the brand’s profile.
Location: New York, NY - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $200,000 – $250,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Own and define the organization’s external communications vision and strategy across media and events
- Build and manage the communications budget, making investment tradeoffs as necessary
- Elevate the profile of top executives through securing speaking opportunities and press coverage
- Oversee key moments such as major industry conferences from strategic concept to execution
- Cultivate relationships with both top-tier media outlets and emerging writers and creators
- Monitor media trends to keep strategies relevant, current, and forward-thinking
- Establish editorial and narrative standards for external communications
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in public relations, marketing, communications, or brand storytelling, preferably with agency or in-house leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience owning strategy, budget, and team for a marketing function
- Proven track record of developing communications strategies that drive visibility in both traditional and emerging media
- Strong existing relationships with journalists and creators, with an understanding of how to engage both established and new media platforms
- Demonstrated success securing high-impact press, speaking opportunities, and thought leadership for executives or brands
- Experience planning and executing brand activations and cultural moments that create audience engagement
- Exceptional writing, storytelling, and editorial judgment, with a knack for crafting compelling narratives
