Mandatory requirement:

We need someone with hands-on experience designing and managing software-defined virtual private networks — specifically Tailscale or a comparable WireGuard-based mesh VPN — to run and harden our fleet network connecting multiple remote sites to a central hub.

Requirements for the above: Practical Tailscale (or similar SD-VPN) experience: ACL policy design, device onboarding/offboarding, troubleshooting across NAT, CGNAT, and mobile/4G connections Comfortable with hub-and-spoke network design — routing, split-tunnel vs full-tunnel trade-offs, and segmenting access between device roles Security-minded: network access logging and audit trails, key/credential rotation, least-privilege access control, incident response for compromised devices or keys -> can you give me 2-3 screening questions based on this requirement.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Network Engineer role based in Bengaluru. The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining LAN, WAN, and wireless networks to ensure stable and secure connectivity. Daily tasks include monitoring network performance, identifying and resolving issues, performing root cause analysis, and optimizing configurations for reliability and efficiency.

The role involves implementing and managing network security measures such as firewalls, VPNs, and access controls, as well as supporting the integration of new hardware, software, and services. The Network Engineer will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, document network architectures and changes, and provide technical support and guidance to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• - 3–4 years of relevant experience in Network Engineering / Network Administration.
• - Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI Model, IP Addressing, and Subnetting.
• - Hands-on experience with Routing & Switching.
• - Strong knowledge of VLAN, STP, OSPF, and BGP.
• - Hands-on experience with Cisco Routers, Switches, and Network Devices.
• - Strong network troubleshooting and performance monitoring skills.
• - Knowledge of Firewalls, ACL, VPN, and Network Security.
• - Good understanding of DNS, DHCP, NAT, and network services.
• - Knowledge of wireless networking and network monitoring tools.
• - Basic knowledge of AWS/Azure Networking is an added advantage.
• - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• - Good communication and documentation skills.
• - Ability to work independently and handle network issues within defined timelines.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Effective communication skills, ability to document technical work clearly, and capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment.
