Deakin Private is a 52 Bed Private Mental Health Hospital, with 12 dedicated beds to support PTSD/Trauma for Military and First Responders. With a diverse team Deakin provides both inpatient and outpatient care through day programs, community care service and a Private Practice.


We have a range of casual, part time and full-time opportunities for highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurses to join our passionate and caring team.

Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Focus on service improvement for delivery of excellent patient care and positive patient outcomes.

Demonstrated knowledge of Infection Control Principles and Protocols.

Demonstrated high standards of professional and ethical practice.

A commitment to patient-focused care and quality improvement.

The ability to work effectively in a team.

The ability to work a 7-Day Rotating Roster.

Evidence of immunisation forCategory Ahealth care worker.

Basic Life Support.

Post-graduate qualifications in mental health are desirable.

Key responsibilities:

Provide patient-centred care

Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team

Promote and adhere to the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards

Participate in quality improvement activities

Maintain accurate clinical records

Practice Infection Control Principles and Protocols

Provide safe administration of medications

Adhere to Work Health and Safety principles

Effectively communicate with clients, families and carers

Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
