About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and versatile communications professional to manage the firm's social media presence, draft and coordinate high-quality press releases, and oversee submissions to leading legal directories and rankings (such as Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, IFLR1000, and similar publications). The ideal candidate combines strong writing skills with a sound understanding of the legal industry and law firm marketing practices.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Management
- Plan, create, and manage engaging content across LinkedIn, Twitter/X, and other relevant platforms in line with the firm's brand voice and professional standards.
- Develop and execute a social media content calendar covering firm updates, deal announcements, thought leadership, awards, and events.
- Monitor social media performance, track engagement metrics, and prepare periodic reports with actionable insights.
- Coordinate with partners and practice groups to source content and ensure timely, accurate posting.
- Stay current with social media trends and best practices relevant to the legal and professional services sector.
Press Releases & Media Communications
- Draft, edit, and finalise high-quality press releases on deals, appointments, awards, firm announcements, and events.
- Liaise with partners and internal stakeholders to gather accurate information and ensure timely release of communications.
- Build and maintain relationships with legal and business journalists, media outlets, and PR agencies.
- Ensure all external communications maintain consistency in tone, accuracy, and adherence to firm messaging guidelines.
Legal Directory & Rankings Submissions
- Manage end-to-end submissions to legal directories such as Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, IFLR1000, AsiaLaw, and other relevant rankings.
- Coordinate with practice group heads and partners to collect matter details, client referee information, and supporting data within deadlines.
- Draft compelling, accurate submission narratives that effectively showcase the firm's practice strengths and key matters.
- Track submission calendars, deadlines, and follow-ups with researchers and directory analysts.
- Maintain a repository of submission content, client testimonials, and matter highlights for future use.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in social media management, corporate/legal communications, PR, or marketing โ experience within a law firm or professional services environment is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience handling legal directory submissions (Chambers, Legal 500, IFLR1000, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong command over English and impeccable attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines, stakeholders, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound understanding of the legal industry, practice areas, and professional etiquette required for interacting with partners and senior leadership.
- Proficiency with social media management and analytics tools (e.g., LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Hootsuite, Canva) and MS Office.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across practice groups and with external agencies.
