About the Role

BuildAmbit is looking for an Interior Architecture Trainer & Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead training delivery, curriculum development, and content creation for our Interior Architecture programs.

The role combines teaching, mentoring, content development, and industry expertise, with a strong focus on practical, project-based, and career-oriented learning.

Key ResponsibilitiesTraining & Mentoring

• Deliver engaging and practical Interior Architecture training through live classes, workshops, and masterclasses.
• Teach concepts across space planning, interior architecture, materials, lighting, furniture, detailing, and design development.
• Mentor learners on live projects, assignments, portfolios, and industry-oriented case studies.
• Conduct design reviews, assessments, presentations, and project critiques.
• Provide structured feedback to help learners improve their technical and design capabilities.
• Prepare learners for professional Interior Architecture roles and industry expectations.

Content & Curriculum

• Develop and continuously improve curriculum, modules, lesson plans, assignments, and practical projects.
• Create learning content including presentations, videos, exercises, case studies, and project briefs.
• Ensure content reflects current industry practices, design standards, workflows, and emerging trends.
• Review and quality-check existing content for accuracy, relevance, and industry alignment.
• Incorporate real-world projects and professional case studies into the learning experience.

Subject Matter Expertise

• Bring practical knowledge of interior architecture, space planning, design development, materials, finishes, lighting, furniture, detailing, and documentation.
• Guide learners on professional design workflows from concept development through design documentation and execution.
• Stay updated with new materials, technologies, software, design trends, and industry practices.
• Work closely with the Product, Content, and Learning teams to continuously improve the program.

Tools & Skills

Strong proficiency in relevant tools such as:

AutoCAD | SketchUp | Revit | 3ds Max | V-Ray | Enscape | Photoshop

Knowledge of additional BIM, rendering, visualization, or AI-enabled design tools will be an advantage.

What We're Looking For

• 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or Architecture.
• Strong practical experience in interior architecture and design projects.
• Prior experience as a trainer, faculty member, mentor, or design professional is preferred.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating real-world projects.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and teaching skills.
• Ability to simplify complex concepts and explain them effectively.
• Strong understanding of industry expectations and employability skills.
• Passion for teaching, mentoring, and developing industry-ready professionals.
• B.Arch / B.Des / Diploma in Interior Design or Interior Architecture, or a relevant qualification preferred.
