Project Accountant - Wicklow - 6 month contract

Our client is a multi-entity business headquartered in North Wicklow, with hybrid working available. They are looking for a qualified accountant (3-6 years PQE) to join their finance team on a six month contract as Project Accountant, in a role focused on systems, process improvement, and financial controls.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Working closely with the CFO, this is a project-led role taking ownership of a number of key finance initiatives across the group, with genuine breadth across process, systems, controls, and compliance.

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing and improving existing finance processes to increase efficiency, strengthen controls, and improve consistency;
• Supporting the implementation and optimisation of finance systems, including process design, testing, and user support;
• Reviewing, developing, and implementing finance policies, procedures, and SOPs;
• Supporting the enhancement of financial controls, approval processes, and governance frameworks;
• Supporting projects relating to VAT, indirect tax, and other compliance requirements;
• Working with finance and non-finance stakeholders to implement change across the business.

ABOUT THE PERSON:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 3-6 years PQE;
• Experience in finance systems implementation, process improvement, or finance transformation;
• Strong understanding of financial controls and accounting processes;
• Exposure to VAT and indirect tax, ideally across multiple jurisdictions;
• Comfortable managing projects and stakeholders at different levels;
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with finance systems and ERPs.

This role will suit a qualified accountant with process improvement or systems implementation experience, looking for a six month contract in Wicklow with hybrid working.
