Assistant Accountant Tipperary Office based. Optimize Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a world-leading agri-business to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a part-qualified accountant or experienced Accounts Assistant looking to take the next step in their career within the unique and fast-paced bloodstock and thoroughbred racing industry.

The successful candidate will gain broad exposure across the business, work closely with senior management and have excellent opportunities to develop their accounting expertise and progress their career within the industry. Working as part of a dynamic finance team, the Assistant Accountant will support a wide range of financial reporting, management accounting and business analysis activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, including analysis and investigation of variances.
  • Completion of monthly bloodstock reconciliations.
  • Assisting with the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Supporting statutory reporting and liaising with external auditors.
  • Providing financial analysis and commercial support to the wider business.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of financial reporting processes and systems development projects.
  • Assisting with ad hoc financial projects and duties as required.

About You

  • We are looking for an ambitious and motivated finance professional who is keen to develop their career and take on increased responsibility.
  • You will ideally have: A part-qualified accounting qualification, or relevant experience as an experienced Accounts Assistant.
  • Strong technical accounting and management accounting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.
  • Strong IT skills, with experience using financial accounting and reporting systems.
  • A willingness and aptitude to learn, with the ability to take ownership and assume responsibility.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise effectively with colleagues and senior management.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
