Job Description

This is a most unusual opportunity for an experienced AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCT LAUNCH Manager in that you are helping launch a new automotive brand into the UK. You won’t be inheriting a mature range where all the processes, positioning and propositions have already been decided. As the Product Launch Manager , you get to help determine how the new cars actually enter and compete in the UK market.

That means having genuine influence over some very big commercial decisions: vehicle positioning, competitor benchmarking, launch strategy, residual values, insurance positioning and the customer finance proposition. It’s a great role for someone with relevant experience !


TITLE: UK OEM CAR PRODUCT LAUNCH MANAGER

Salary : to £70,000 + 15% bonus ( £10,500) + car and other benefits

Location : London

The role :This is a particularly exciting role because it sits right at the point where a new passenger car goes from being a product on paper to becoming a commercial reality in the UK! The job is part product strategist, part commercial leader and part launch conductor. You will be responsible for making sure that every part of the business comes together successfully for the UK vehicle launch.

You don't just launch the car — you help make the car commercially viable. This role has considerable visibility and gives you a career-defining piece of experience.

Duties

  • Create a master launch plan.
  • Look at critical milestones: vehicle availability, dealer readiness, training, logistics, digital, media, aftersales and finance.
  • Get the relevant teams moving
  • Analyse the UK competitive landscape.
  • Research how the new car compares with its key rivals? Check the product’s positioning
  • Work with Finance and RV partners to adjust the proposition before launch.
  • Coordinate the launch making sure everybody else delivers their part of the event
  • Present the vehicle strategy to dealers, and attend dealer events and liaise with the media

Requirements

  • Significant UK passenger-car OEM experience
  • You must have personally led major vehicle launches
  • Excellent automotive finance knowledge – PCP/PCH ( a good understanding of PCP, PCH, APR, deposits, GFVs and monthly-payment competitiveness is essential )
  • Understanding of vehicle insurance ratings
