Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Millwork Draftsman to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed shop drawings for custom architectural millwork and commercial projects, working closely with our project management and production teams to ensure designs are practical, accurate, and ready for fabrication.


The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of millwork construction and fabrication, is proficient in AutoCAD, and has at least 2 years of relevant drafting experience. Knowledge of CNC machinery and/or programming is considered a strong asset.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed millwork shop drawings using AutoCAD, including plans, elevations, sections, and fabrication details.
  • Interpret architectural drawings, specifications, sketches, and design intent.
  • Develop accurate drawings for custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, fixtures, and other custom components.
  • Review drawings for accuracy, dimensions, materials, hardware, and constructability prior to production.
  • Incorporate client, architect, designer, and project manager comments into drawing revisions.
  • Coordinate with project managers, production teams, and installers to resolve technical and design issues.
  • Ensure drawings are suitable for fabrication and accurately reflect project requirements.
  • Assist with material specifications, hardware details, and production information as required.
  • Verify site dimensions and incorporate field measurements into drawings when necessary.
  • Maintain organized drawing files and ensure revisions are properly documented.
  • Support the production team with technical questions throughout fabrication and installation.
  • Qualifications

    • Minimum 2+ years of experience in millwork drafting, architectural drafting, cabinetry, or a related field.
    • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
    • Experience preparing millwork shop and fabrication drawings.
    • Good understanding of millwork construction methods, materials, hardware, and manufacturing processes.
    • Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
    • Strong attention to detail and dimensional accuracy.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
    • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with project management and production teams.
  • Assets

    • Knowledge of CNC machinery, programming, or CNC-based millwork production.
    • Experience with Cabinet Vision, Mosaiic, Microvellum, or similar millwork software.
    • Experience in commercial and retail millwork.
    • Experience working directly with a millwork fabrication shop.
    • Bilingual in English and French.
