Reliability & Maintenance Engineer – Automated Warehouse

We are seeking a hands‑on Maintenance & Reliability Engineer to join a highly automated warehouse environment in the Netherlands.

This role combines technical maintenance execution with a strong focus on reliability engineering, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement. You will work with advanced intralogistics and material handling systems in a fast‑paced, high-automation environment.

Your mission is not only to fix issues—but to prevent them from happening again by improving structure, processes, and system reliability across operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults in automated warehouse systems
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure maximum uptime
• Take ownership of maintenance activities during shift operations
• Collaborate with operations teams to minimize downtime impact
• Work with external suppliers on complex technical issues

Reliability & Continuous Improvement

• Analyze recurring failures and perform root cause analysis (RCA)
• Develop and implement long‑term technical improvements
• Build structured maintenance and reliability frameworks
• Improve maintenance planning, data usage, and performance tracking
• Standardize best practices across systems and sites
• Support and coach junior technicians
• Promote a proactive maintenance culture
• Share technical knowledge and best practices within the team

Your Profile

• Technical diploma (MBO Level 3 or higher, or equivalent)
• 2-5 years of experience in maintenance, engineering, or technical operations
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
• Experience with sensors, automation, or camera‑based systems
• Familiar with CMMS, SCADA, or industrial control systems
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset
• Able to work independently and take ownership
• Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus)

Nice to Have

• Experience in automated warehouses, logistics, or manufacturing
• VCA and/or NEN 3140 certification
• Background in intralogistics or high‑automation environments
