Software engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Software Engineer with 2–4 years of experience in Java application development and exposure to Angular.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, and technical teams to gather, analyze, and understand business and functional requirements.
• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and Angular.
• Translate functional and technical specifications into scalable, efficient, and maintainable software solutions.
• Write clean, secure, reusable, and well‑documented code in accordance with coding standards and best practices.
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs to support application integration.
• Perform unit testing and support integration testing, system testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve application defects, production issues, and performance bottlenecks.
• Implement software enhancements, bug fixes, and configuration changes as required.
• Participate in peer code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and compliance with security standards.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful and timely project delivery.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in Java application development.
• Exposure to Angular or other modern front-end frameworks.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and software design principles.
• Experience in developing RESTful APIs and web-based applications.
• Knowledge of SQL databases and database design concepts.
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile development methodologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Spring Boot or other Java frameworks.
• Knowledge of Git or other version control systems.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.
• Familiarity with secure coding standards and enterprise application development.
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms and microservices architecture is an added advantage.
