The Role

This is an opportunity to join a team that bridges Security Engineering and Compliance, streamlining vulnerability management across the business. Working as a Level 3 engineer, you will have real input into architecture decisions and help design scalable, performant and cost-optimised solutions. You will trial new security tooling, including emerging AI-driven approaches, write Python and SQL to solve engineering challenges, and act as a trusted advisor to the wider engineering function on secure-by-design practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and trial new security tooling across the SDLC, with a particular focus on AI-driven solutions
• Design and code security engineering solutions, primarily using Python and SQL
• Advise and consult with engineers on secure-by-design methodologies and security best practice
• Maintain core security data products including SBOM, asset inventory, cloud infrastructure and SIEM
• Monitor, log, triage and escalate security threats, documenting indicators of compromise
• Conduct security assessments across a range of methods and collate findings into clear reports
• Collaborate with engineering teams to remediate identified issues
• Provide support, training and mentorship to wider teams on security practice

What You'll Need

Essential:

• Proven experience as a Security Analyst, Security Engineer or in a similar role
• Strong programming skills in Python, plus exposure to Java, Go and/or SQL
• Proficiency with AWS security tooling, including Security Hub and IAM
• Solid grounding in risk assessment, threat modelling, the OWASP Top 10 and encryption theory
• Clear understanding of secure development best practice
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools
• Comfortable working in Linux environments

Desirable / Nice to Have:

• Experience mentoring or training wider engineering teams
• A track record of using data to validate security concepts and support decision-making
