Job Description

Private Sector | Government Tenders | Institutional Business

Company Description:

Design Plus Architects (DPA) is a Gurgaon-based architecture and design practice working across institutional, hospitality, residential, sports, commercial and large-scale master planning projects.

The practice focuses on contemporary, context-responsive design, balancing design quality, sustainability, technology, programme and commercial objectives. DPA works with private developers, institutions, corporates and public-sector organisations across India, while also collaborating on international projects.

The firm has a strong track record in competitive design and is recognised as the only architectural practice in India to have won six National-Level Design Competitions since 2010.

Role:

Design Plus Architects is looking for a Business Development Manager to drive new business across private-sector clients, institutional opportunities and public-sector tenders.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can identify opportunities, open doors, secure meetings, manage tender submissions and keep the firm's credentials and business-development material continuously ready.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue private and public-sector opportunities relevant to architecture, interiors, master planning and project consultancy.
  • Take ownership of government and institutional tendering โ€” tracking opportunities, evaluating eligibility and coordinating complete submissions.
  • Monitor GeM, CPPP, e-tender portals, PSUs, government departments and institutional procurement platforms.
  • Develop private-sector leads and proactively set up meetings with developers, institutions, corporates and potential clients.
  • Handle outreach through emails, calls, LinkedIn and direct introductions, with quick and structured follow-up.
  • Coordinate EOIs, RFQs, RFPs, tenders, empanelments and pre-qualification submissions.
  • Prepare and customise company profiles, credentials, capability presentations and pitch PPTs.
  • Maintain registrations and empanelments with government departments, PSUs, institutions and private organisations.
  • Maintain an organised database of projects, credentials, certificates, team CVs, registrations and statutory documents required for submissions.
  • Track leads, meetings, submissions and follow-ups through a structured business-development pipeline.
  • Coordinate with the Principal Architects and project teams for technical and commercial inputs.

Candidate Profile:

  • 4โ€“8 years of relevant experience in Business Development / Tendering, preferably within architecture, engineering, construction, PMC, real estate or professional consultancy.
  • Strong hands-on experience in public-sector tendering is essential.
  • Good understanding of eligibility criteria, technical bids, financial bids, EMDs, tender documentation and compliance requirements.
  • Strong written communication and ability to prepare clear, professional emails quickly.
  • Confident in approaching prospective clients and converting introductions into meetings.
  • Strong PowerPoint and presentation skills.
  • Highly organised and capable of managing multiple opportunities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Commercially aware, responsive and proactive.

What We Are Looking For:

Someone who combines the discipline of a tendering specialist with the energy of a private-sector business developer โ€” someone who can find the opportunity, open the door, prepare the pitch and take the submission through to completion.
