We're looking for a Survey Technician to join our growing surveying team in Albury. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical office-based work with hands‑on field surveying, while contributing to projects that support local communities and infrastructure.

You'll be part of a collaborative team delivering a variety of surveying projects, with the chance to further develop your skills across cadastral, engineering and construction surveying.

About the Role

As a Survey Technician, you'll work closely with Surveyors and the broader team to deliver accurate, high-quality survey outcomes for clients. Your time will be split between fieldwork and office-based tasks, supporting projects from initial setup through to final deliverables.

Day‑to‑day, you'll be involved in:

  • Assisting with cadastral, engineering and construction surveys
  • Performing survey fieldwork using modern surveying technology
  • Preparing survey calculations, data processing and project setup activities
  • Drafting survey plans and sketches using CAD software
  • Producing survey reports and documentation
  • Maintaining survey equipment and vehicles
  • Supporting Survey Assistants and contributing to a productive team environment
  • Ensuring projects are delivered accurately, professionally and within agreed timeframes

The role will involve local travel, with occasional overnight travel when project requirements dictate.

What We're Looking For

  • Diploma in Surveying or a related discipline, or higher qualification
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
  • Experience using surveying equipment such as total stations, GNSS technology, drones and/or 3D scanners
  • Working knowledge of CAD software and survey data processingStrong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A team‑oriented approach with the ability to work independently when required
  • A strong commitment to accuracy, safety and professional standards

Highly Regarded

  • Experience in a similar Survey Technician position
  • Experience with Topcon Office, 12d and/or AutoCAD
  • Industry memberships and a commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Knowledge of NSW surveying legislation and development processes
