Rigid Truck Driver

Job Description

Flexsource are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer and distributor of high-quality polycarbonate plastic products. We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Rigid Truck Driver to join their growing team based in Ashbourne, Co. Meath.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established company offering a permanent, Monday to Friday position with local and nationwide deliveries. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring products are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time while maintaining the highest standards of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Category C box body rigid truck in accordance with road traffic legislation and company policies.
• Complete scheduled local and nationwide deliveries and collections throughout Ireland, ensuring deliveries are made safely and on time.
• Load and unload goods safely, ensuring products are secured correctly during transit.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report any defects promptly.
• Complete delivery paperwork accurately and maintain delivery records.
• Provide a professional and courteous service to customers at all delivery locations.
• Plan delivery routes efficiently and communicate any issues to the operations team.
• Assist with loading and preparing deliveries when required.
• Comply with all Health & Safety procedures and company policies.
• Maintain a clean and roadworthy vehicle at all times.
• Carry out any additional duties as required to support the day-to-day operation.

Key Requirements

• Full Clean Category C Driving Licence.
• Valid Driver CPC Qualification.
• Digital Tachograph Card.
• Previous experience driving rigid trucks.
• Experience completing local and nationwide deliveries.
• Good geographical knowledge of Ireland.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong awareness of Health & Safety procedures.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Experience delivering building materials or industrial products is an advantage.
• Manual Handling Certificate is an advantage (training can be provided if required).

Working Hours

• 40 hours per week
• Monday to Friday
• 8:00am – 4:30pm
• OT available

Salary & Benefits

• Permanent, full-time position.
• Up to €20.00 per hour, depending on experience.
• Daily subsistence allowance:
  • €15.00 per day for Dublin deliveries.
  • €36.00 per day for nationwide ('country run') deliveries (qualifying locations apply).
