Part-Time Tuition Teacher — Children’s Learning & Mentoring

Location: Children’s Orphanage - Vandalur

Age Group: 6–14 years

Subjects: All core subjects

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2 hours per day

Role

We are looking for a caring, patient, and committed Part-Time Tuition Teacher to support children aged 6–14 with their academic learning, confidence, and overall development.

The role goes beyond teaching lessons. The teacher will mentor, guide, assess, encourage, and help each child improve their learning skills and confidence.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach and support children across core subjects based on their age and learning level.
• Understand each child's strengths, challenges, and learning needs.
• Provide individual attention and additional support where required.
• Conduct simple assessments to track academic progress and identify learning gaps.
• Create engaging and practical learning activities to make lessons enjoyable.
• Help children improve reading, writing, communication, mathematics, and problem-solving skills.
• Guide children in developing better study habits, discipline, concentration, and time management.
• Encourage curiosity, confidence, creativity, and independent learning.
• Mentor children with patience, empathy, and positive reinforcement.
• Track progress and share observations with the program coordinator.
• Help children prepare for school examinations, assignments, and academic requirements.
• Create a safe, respectful, and encouraging learning environment.

Ideal Candidate

• Graduate or postgraduate with strong academic knowledge.
• Teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or child-development experience preferred.
• Patient, compassionate, and comfortable working with children from different learning backgrounds.
• Able to teach multiple subjects across different age groups.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passionate about education and helping children reach their potential.

Time Commitment: 2 hours per day, Monday to Friday.
