Role Description The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including maintaining ledgers, processing invoices, recording journal entries, and reconciling bank and vendor accounts. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, assisting in budgeting and forecasting, monitoring cash flow, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. The role involves ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, as well as coordinating with auditors and internal stakeholders to address financial queries.

The Accountant will also analyze financial data to support management decisions and provide accurate reports on costs, margins, and profitability. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai.
Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in core accounting practices, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, and financial statement preparation.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, or similar), MS Excel, and other relevant financial tools.
  • Knowledge of Indian accounting standards, GST, TDS, and other local tax regulations, with experience in filing returns and supporting audits.
  • Ability to analyze financial data, prepare management reports, support budgeting and forecasting, and provide clear financial insights.
  • Attention to detail, strong numerical aptitude, and a high level of accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CA Inter, CMA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
  • Experience in the food manufacturing or FMCG sector is beneficial, along with familiarity with inventory and cost accounting.
