Truck Driver

Aussie Sheet Metal is seeking an experienced Truck Driver to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in Berrinba, QLD 4117, this role is central to our operations in the road transport sector. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, ensuring timely delivery whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

This position plays a vital role in our logistics network and directly contributes to our commitment to reliable service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Operating and manoeuvring trucks safely and responsibly, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Transporting goods and materials to designated locations within scheduled timeframes
• Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in safe working condition
• Maintaining accurate logbooks and documentation of deliveries, mileage and fuel consumption
• Loading and unloading cargo, or supervising loading and unloading operations as required
• Communicating effectively with dispatch, management and customers regarding delivery status and any issues
• Maintaining a clean and well-organised vehicle interior and exterior
• Adhering to workplace health and safety procedures and company policies at all times
• Planning routes efficiently to optimise fuel consumption and meet delivery deadlines

What we are looking for

• Valid Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) driver's licence, as required for the role
• Proven experience working as a truck driver in road transport or a related industry
• Current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one
• Demonstrated knowledge of road safety regulations, traffic laws and best practices in vehicle operation
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet delivery schedules consistently
• Excellent communication skills and a professional, courteous approach to customer interactions
• Physical fitness and capability to perform manual handling tasks as required
• Attention to detail and commitment to accurate record-keeping and documentation
• A strong safety culture and willingness to report hazards or concerns promptly
• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and digital logbook technology is advantageous
