What Youll Be Doing (position summary):
The Manager of Production Support is responsible for preparing, customizing, and testing software applications for deployment within the organization. This role involves creating installation packages, ensuring compatibility with enterprise systems. The incumbent collaborates with stakeholders to gather requirements, applies organization-specific configurations, and documents packaging procedures.
The position requires attention to detail, technical proficiency, and a strong commitment to quality assurance.

How Youll Succeed (responsibilities):
- Manage relationships with business and vendor partners to deliver application packages.
- Collaborate with technology teams to create and update applications within a complex technical environment.
- Support team members through knowledge sharing, collaboration, and effective problem solving.
- Analyze and mitigate risks, present alternative solutions, and recommend best-fit approaches for complex initiatives.
- Conduct installation, upgrade, and uninstallation testing to ensure packages function correctly and consistently across environments.
- Identify, document, and report packaging issues, working with packaging and deployment teams to resolve defects.
- Maintain detailed records of testing procedures, results, and remediation actions.
People Management:
- Set appropriate context when assigning work to ensure that individuals roles support the achievement of the business units priorities and CIBCs overall goals.
- Build team and individual capabilities by providing development opportunities such as job shadowing, special projects, and training.
- Manage performance by providing fair and accurate formal and informal feedback, identifying and removing obstacles to performance, and explaining how performance expectations align with business priorities.
- Create a positive work environment and act as an effective role model by championing CIBCs mission, vision, and values.
- Ensure compliance with policies, standards, guidelines, and controls by applying the policies and controls fairly and consistently so employees understand what to expect.
- Hire the right people in the right jobs to align individual capabilities with job requirements and business unit goals.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Collaborates with business units, project managers, and application owners to ensure accurate and timely deployments.

AUTHORITIES/DECISION RIGHTS:
- As a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to recommend changes to business processes in order to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- As a manager of people, in this job has the authority to assign tasks to employees within their span of control, in coordination with Senior Manager select individuals for hire, assess individual performance, make employee compensation decisions and take disciplinary measures up to and including termination.
JOB DIMENSIONS:
- Directly coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Responsible for timely and accurate deployment requests.
- Provides advisory and support services to ensure compliance and operational excellence
Experience: 7+ years of experience
Who You Are (skills/qualifications):
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in application packaging, 3+ years people management, with at least 3 years directly creating packages using InstallShield, APPV 5.x, MSIX, and PowerShell scripting
- Strong knowledge of Windows registry, file/folder security, local/domain user security, and general operating system concepts
- Familiarity with troubleshooting installation issues and resolving conflicts related to application deployment
- Ability to document testing procedures, results, and remediation actions clearly and accurately
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with packaging and deployment teams
- Ability to write technical documentation
- Collaborative mindset, driven by collective success and team vision
- Strong attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and process improvement
- Experience with data analysis tools and techniques to interpret security metrics
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Project management skills to coordinate remediation activities and drive initiative.
