This role reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing and works closely with hotel leadership, Front Office, and F&B to deliver on both revenue targets and the guest experience.

What You’ll Be Responsible ForSales & Account Management

  • Own and grow a portfolio of corporate, group, and leisure accounts and contacts across key market segments
  • Actively prospect, develop, and close new business through outbound outreach, site visits, RFP responses, and client entertainment
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial inquiry through contract execution and post-stay follow-up
  • Negotiate rates, terms, and concessions within established parameters while protecting yield and positioning
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with travel management companies, corporate travel managers, event planners, and luxury travel advisors
  • Represent Nine Orchard at trade shows, industry events, client dinners, and sales trips as needed

Revenue & Strategy

  • Contribute to the annual sales plan, including account-level revenue goals and prospecting targets
  • Prepare and present regular pipeline reports, production updates, and market intelligence to hotel leadership
  • Monitor competitive set performance and communicate market shifts that affect positioning or strategy
  • Collaborate with Revenue Management to align sales efforts with rate strategy and availability

Group & Event Sales

  • Source, develop, and convert group leads for meetings, buyouts, social events, and micro-weddings
  • Prepare detailed proposals, BEOs, and group contracts that reflect the hotel’s standards and voice
  • Coordinate with F&B and Events teams to develop customized programs, menus, and setup specifications
  • Serve as the primary contact for group clients from inquiry through departure; ensure a seamless handoff to operations

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date account records, activity logs, and pipeline data in the hotel’s CRM and PMS
  • Prepare weekly sales reports, production summaries, and comp set analyses for leadership review
  • Coordinate VIP arrival logistics with Front Office and Housekeeping, including room assignments and amenity delivery
  • Support the broader sales office with coverage during peak periods, trade shows, and team travel

What We’re Looking For

  • 4–7 years of hotel sales experience, with a track record of managing accounts and meeting revenue goals
  • Background in a luxury, boutique, or lifestyle property—you understand what sets independent hotels apart
  • Established relationships in the New York market: corporate accounts, travel trade, event planners, or luxury travel advisors
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; you write proposals that win and present with confidence
  • Skilled at managing multiple accounts and priorities in a lean, fast-moving environment
  • Proficiency with hotel sales and property management systems (Delphi, Opera, or similar)
  • Availability to travel, attend evening events, and support client entertainment as needed

  • Experience with group and event sales, including catering and buyout business
  • Familiarity with the New York lifestyle, F&B, and cultural events landscape

  • You know how to read a room, a client, and a market—and you use that intelligence to close
  • You understand that at a hotel like Nine Orchard, the experience starts in the sales conversation
  • You’re ambitious and self-directed, but thrive in a collaborative environment where the work is shared
  • You bring genuine enthusiasm for design, hospitality, and New York—and it comes through in every interaction
