Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing accounting tasks, detailed analysis, general ledger entries and account reconciliations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform accounting for various transactions of the business and ensure they are properly accounted for and accurately reflected in the financial statements
  • Analyze financial data and use independent judgment for purposes of identifying variances, when possible, resolving accounting operating system issues, compiling statistical information, and developing procedures to improve current processes
  • Research a wide variety of financial topics to provide information or recommendations that impact the organizations operations.
  • Responsible for general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and practices
  • Conform and adhere to internal controls over accounting procedures as set forth by upper management
  • Interfaces frequently with various levels within the organization

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance Preferred
  • General Ledger Accounting and reconciliation experience with thorough understanding of GAAP in a corporate environment.
  • Proficient in the utilization of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Ability to multi-task and complete projects within specific deadlines
  • Experience completing detailed accounting schedules
  • Ability to read and understand P&L statements
  • Strong computer, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent time management skills
