Job Description
Our client, a leading advisory firm, is seeking an experienced and commercially minded finance professional to join its growing Financial Reporting & Advisory team. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside senior leaders while partnering with finance teams across a diverse portfolio of publicly listed companies, multinational organisations and privately owned businesses.
In this role, you will lead the delivery of complex financial reporting and accounting advisory engagements, supporting clients through technical accounting matters, regulatory requirements and periods of business transformation. Working across a range of industries and often with international organisations, you will provide practical, commercially focused advice that helps clients navigate complex financial reporting challenges.
This position offers exposure to technically challenging projects, opportunities to work with senior stakeholders, and the chance to play a key role in the continued growth of a collaborative and ambitious advisory team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple client engagements, delivering high-quality financial reporting and advisory services within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Lead and review the preparation of complex financial statements under IFRS, FRS 102 and US GAAP.
- Advise clients on technical accounting matters, including group restructurings, acquisitions, business combinations, consolidations, impairment assessments, revenue recognition and lease accounting.
- Oversee project planning, resource allocation and engagement delivery while maintaining high standards of governance and quality.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to senior finance stakeholders.
- Lead, coach and develop a team of managers, senior associates and associates, supporting both their technical and professional development.
- Contribute to business development activities, including proposals, presentations and identifying new opportunities.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across service lines and international teams where required.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, professional standards and internal quality frameworks.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, drive efficiencies and enhance client service delivery.
Skills & Experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
- Minimum of five years' post-qualified experience in audit, financial reporting or accounting advisory, including at least two years at Assistant Manager or Manager level.
- Experience gained within a leading accountancy practice or advisory firm is preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP.
- Proven experience leading teams and managing complex client engagements.
- Excellent communication, relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to provide practical, value-adding solutions to clients.
- Experience using CaseWare or similar financial reporting and audit software would be advantageous.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
