What Youll Be Doing (position summary):
The Technology Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering complex technology and application migration projects using consolidated infrastructure solutions. The role manages all phases of project, ensuring quality, timeliness, and alignment with business goals. The incumbent drives cross-functional collaboration, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement in migration methodologies.

How Youll Succeed (responsibilities):
- Manage end-to- end Technology and application migration projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure using consolidated infrastructure solutions.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, resource allocations, and risk management strategies.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including application development, operations, engineering, and vendors.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards, are delivered on time, and stay within budget.
- Track and reconcile financials ensuring resolution of anomalies, update and reconcile latest estimates ensuring actuals to plan, make recommendations escalating as appropriate.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate migration risks, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Oversee testing, validation, and post-migration support activities.
- Drive continuous improvement and adoption of best practices in migration methodologies.
People Management:
- Set appropriate context when assigning work to ensure that individuals roles support the achievement of the business units priorities and CIBCs overall goals.
- Build team and individual capabilities by providing development opportunities such as job shadowing, special projects, and training.
- Manage performance by providing fair and accurate formal and informal feedback, identifying and removing obstacles to performance, and explaining how performance expectations align with business priorities.
- Create a positive work environment and act as an effective role model by championing CIBCs mission, vision, and values.
- Ensure compliance with policies, standards, guidelines, and controls by applying the policies and controls fairly and consistently so employees understand what to expect and perform quarterly spot checks.
- Hire the right people in the right jobs to align individual capabilities with job requirements and business unit goals.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams including application development, operations, engineering, and vendors to coordinate migration activities.
- Works closely with senior leadership and stakeholders to communicate project status, risks, and issues.
- Engages external vendors and third-party partners for project execution and support
- Oversee project staff, delegating tasks to appropriate leads.
- Plan, execute, control, and close projects in alignment with CIBC policies and procedures.
COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance considerations in application migration.
AUTHORITIES/DECISION RIGHTS:
- As a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to recommend changes to business processes in order to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- As a manager of people, this job has the authority to assign tasks to employees within their span of control, select individuals for hire, assess individual performance, make employee compensation decisions and take disciplinary measures up to and including termination.

Experience: 10+ years of experience
Who You Are (skills/qualifications):
Must Have Skills:
- 10+ years experience managing technology projects, with a focus on application migration and infrastructure migration.
- 3-5 years experience in people management.
- Good understanding of application architectures, cloud platforms, and migration strategies (e.g., lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and re-architecting).
- Proficient with project management tools (e.g., MS-Project, ServiceNow) and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing vendors and third-party partners.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification preferred.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to prioritize.
Good to have Skills:
- Experience with cloud migration (AWS, Azure, Softlayer) is a plus.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance considerations in application migration.
