Help shape exceptional cancer care for adolescents and young adults across South Australia and the Northern Territory. As a Youth Cancer Service Consultant, you'll provide expert clinical care, strengthen partnerships and help grow innovative, patient-centred services that improve outcomes for young people and their families.

• Deliver expert care for adolescents and young adults with cancer
\n
• Lead service growth across public, private and regional settings
\n
• Build strong partnerships with multidisciplinary care teams
\n
• Guide best practice, quality improvement and clinical innovation
\n
• Support patients, families and the wider community with expert advice
\n

\n

To succeed in this role, you will need minimum of the following qualifications, experience, and personal qualities:

\n

\n
• Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications (Fellow of either The Royal Australasian College of Physicians or The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (Faculty of Radiation Oncology)) and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
\n
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), including the ability to work with individuals and families for positive health outcomes and to foster productive working relationships both internally and externally.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
\n
• Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement.
\n
• Experience in clinical teaching.
\n
• Experience in quality improvement activities.
\n
• Experience working in a large public hospital and in community settings.
\n
• Understanding of patient care in chosen specialty area and the organisational structure of a multidisciplinary treatment team in a major teaching hospital.
\n
• Understanding of the rights and responsibilities of patients and their families.
\n
• Knowledge of contemporary medical practice and procedures appropriate to the care of AYA cancer patients.
\n

Appointment will be subject to satisfactory Criminal History Clearances and compliant immunisation screening as indicated in the role description.
