About The Role

Reporting to the Senior R&D Manager – Commercial and New Business, the Senior Design Engineer – AHU will be responsible for managing, supporting, and leading all aspects of Air Handling Unit (AHU) related projects. You will oversee product development through a structured schedule, leverage engineering expertise to solve complex design challenges, and work cross-functionally with manufacturing, sales, and global Daikin affiliates.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Lead and manage end-to-end R&D AHU product development projects from initial requirements to delivery, ensuring clear timelines and milestone tracking.
• Provide robust technical guidance to Manufacturing team, resolving design, application, and production issues promptly to ensure minimal disruption.
• Overcome selection software limitations to accurately evaluate and document design modifications, delivering cost-effective, compliant AHU solutions that boost project win probability.
• Partner closely with internal teams (Applied, Manufacturing, QA, Purchasing) and international Daikin affiliates, utilising Gemba insights and competitive benchmarking to drive market-aligned product designs.

About You

We are seeking a highly credible, collaborative engineering leader with deep expertise in air conditioning design and product development. You would apply good engineering practice from the start, thrive in a culturally diverse environment, and communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Selection Criteria & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (preferred).
• Minimum 8 years of experience leading Project Management and Product Development initiatives.
• Demonstrated background in AHU product design and Air Conditioning design.
• Mandatory experience with coil, fan, and motor selection software.
• Experience with sheet metal design is highly regarded.
• High integrity, strong problem-solving mindset, and the ability to foster harmonious relationships across internal stakeholders, suppliers, and overseas affiliates.
