Overview of the Role

The Database Engineer will drive the design, optimization, and maintenance of high-performance database systems, focusing on query engine performance, database architecture, and scalable data infrastructure solutions across complex distributed environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining relational and non-relational database systems.
• Optimizing SQL queries, indexes, and database structures for high performance.
• Analyzing and improving database internals and query engines.
• Monitoring and tuning database performance, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Collaborating with application and backend teams to design data models aligned with system requirements.
• Developing and maintaining backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies.
• Evaluating and integrating new database technologies and tools to enhance system performance.
• Mentoring and guiding team members on best practices in database design and optimization.

Requirements:

• Experience: 4+ years with databases, SQL optimization, and query engine tuning
• Architecture: Strong background in software architecture design
• Security: Strong understanding of system security
• Performance: In-depth knowledge of memory management and performance optimization
• Scalability: Experience in designing distributed and scalable solutions, particularly in cloud environments
• Database Skills: Proficiency in relational and non-relational databases
• Technology Selection: Ability to choose between different architectures/technologies
• Language: Advanced level of English
