Liberty Mutual Surety has an excellent opportunity in Santiago, Chile for a Senior Accountant. In this role, you will manage end-to-end reinsurance and coinsurance transactions, ensuring its correct local and USGAAP accounting recordings. You will be responsible for implementing the reinsurance module in the new core system, participate in the monthly accounting closing process, and will be responsible for corresponding regulatory reporting — acting as direct contact with external and internal auditors.
Responsibilities
- Implement and parameterize the reinsurance module in the new core system, acting as a key user during this stage.
- Manage end-to-end reinsurance and coinsurance transactions — periodic settlements, assignment fees, and special technical reserves associated with catastrophic risks — ensuring their correct local and USGAAP accounting records.
- Prepare CMF regulatory reports and annexes related to reinsurance and maintain the controls that ensure their quality and traceability.
- Partner directly with external and internal auditors in reinsurance and coinsurance matters, and coordinate with reinsurance colleagues and with the Legal, Underwriting and Treasury teams.
- Participate in other projects and initiatives in the Finance area as required.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Commercial Engineering or similar.
- Minimum of 4 years of work experience in accounting or reinsurance administration in general insurance companies.
- Knowledge of proportional reinsurance models and administration of contracts with reinsurers.
- Knowledge of local reinsurance management regulations and related international accounting standards (USGAAP).
- Experience in settlement management and reconciliation processes with reinsurers.
