Warehouse Improvement Specialist – Short-term contract opportunity | Regional WA

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Improvement Specialist to undertake a short-term operational review of a regional warehouse operation.

This assignment will suit a senior warehouse, logistics or supply chain professional with strong operational experience and a proven ability to identify process improvements, improve productivity and optimise warehouse performance.

Working closely with operational teams, you will assess current warehouse practices, workflows and ways of working, providing practical recommendations to improve efficiency, organisation and operational effectiveness.

The focus of this assignment is on people, processes and operational execution — understanding how work is planned, coordinated and performed across the warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a comprehensive operational review of warehouse activities, including time and motion observations.
  • Review warehouse workflows, task sequencing and daily operating practices.
  • Observe operations across multiple shifts to understand workflow continuity and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Assess productivity, workforce utilisation, resource allocation and process consistency.
  • Review pre-start meetings, shift handovers and daily work planning activities.
  • Engage with warehouse personnel to understand current processes, challenges and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assess team organisation, communication practices and operational effectiveness.
  • Provide clear, practical recommendations to improve warehouse performance.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in warehouse, stores, materials or logistics operations.
  • A strong background in operational improvement, continuous improvement or process optimisation initiatives.
  • Experience leading or supervising warehouse teams in industrial, mining, manufacturing or similar environments.
  • Experience assessing warehouse processes, productivity, workforce utilisation and operational effectiveness.
  • The ability to analyse processes, engage with teams and identify practical solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and a hands-on approach.
  • Experience in mining, resources, FIFO or regional operations will be highly regarded.
