Job Description
Our client is a well-established, private equity-backed energy company operating in the Irish market. Backed by a major international investor, the business operates with a lean, entrepreneurial finance function and is scaling quickly across a number of areas within the energy sector.
This is an opportunity to join a small, high-performing finance team, working closely with the Finance Manager and Finance Director across both day-to-day operational finance and strategic projects.
Responsibilities:
- Take an active role in day-to-day finance activities, working with key stakeholders and third-party service providers
- Contribute to the production of monthly financial results, monitor cash flow, and provide analysis for monthly reporting
- Support the Finance Manager during the year-end audit and preparation of annual financial statements
- Support the Finance Director with joint venture audits and interaction with external statutory auditors
- Carry out initial review and analysis of operational reports with a financial focus
- Oversee the company's finance systems through an outsourced service provider, maintaining robust records, master data, and asset registers
- Assist in the preparation of management and board reports and presentations
- Support ad hoc business development work, including due diligence, adviser team management, and financial modelling
Requirements:
- ACA Qualified Accountant, with 0-1 year PQE (Big 4 trained ideally)
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including financial modelling, and PowerPoint
- High attention to detail a critical requirement
- A motivated self-starter, comfortable working independently or as part of a small team
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to make their first move into industry in a fast-paced, highly exposed role.
This is initially a 12 month maternity cover contract, with the possibility of being made permanent thereafter.
