An exciting opportunity has arisen for a business focused Commercial Analyst to join a growing finance team supporting a key operational business area. This role offers the opportunity to provide meaningful financial insight, improve reporting processes and partner closely with operational stakeholders to enhance business performance.
Working within a commercial finance environment, you will play a key role in supporting financial planning, budgeting and forecasting activities, while analysing performance, identifying trends and providing recommendations to improve profitability. A key focus of the role will be reviewing and enhancing existing financial processes, developing streamlined reporting models and creating improved visibility of key cost drivers and business performance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting and regular reforecasting processes.
- Review and improve existing financial models, templates and reporting processes to enhance efficiency and consistency.
- Provide financial analysis and insight to support operational and commercial decision-making.
- Prepare management reporting, variance analysis and performance updates.
- Analyse contract and operational profitability, identifying risks, opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Monitor key cost drivers and support initiatives to improve margins and operational efficiency.
- Develop reporting tools and templates to improve financial visibility across the business.
- Work closely with operational teams to understand performance drivers and support informed decision-making.
About You:
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with experience in financial analysis, FP&A or commercial finance.
- Experience in a commercially focused finance role, ideally supporting an operational, contract-led or service-based environment.
- Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and variance analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills with experience improving reporting processes and financial models.
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to identify trends, challenge performance and provide meaningful insights.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders outside of finance.
- A proactive approach with an interest in process improvement, automation and driving efficiencies.
