This role entails the investigation and handling of suspected fraud cases through all stages of the claims process. You will be experienced in the investigation and handling of suspect claims and have an awareness of the litigation process. Predominantly desk-based, you will review and assess claims, liaising with customers, Investigators, Solicitors and third parties on a one-to-one basis.

The role involves identifying and triaging potentially fraudulent claims from manual referrals, internal alerts, sample reviews and proactive analysis, conducting initial fraud assessments, and determining the appropriate course of action, whether that be internal investigation, referral to SIU or external partners, or returning the claim to BAU claims handling.

You will also carry out OSINT investigations, including social media profiling, digital footprint checks and open-source data enrichment, while developing intelligence-led insights on emerging fraud trends and supporting the wider Counter Fraud strategy through early detection and disruption. The role includes supporting reporting to and liaison with An Garda Síochána, as well as working collaboratively with colleagues as part of a team. Strong communication, negotiation, presentation and organisational skills are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and triage suspected fraudulent claims across relevant product lines
  • Apply fraud indicators and professional judgement to assess risk
  • Conduct OSINT and desk-based investigations to validate suspicion
  • Build clear, evidence-based rationales for referral or de-selection
  • Escalate cases to SIU, investigators or legal partners where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate case records and intelligence logs
  • Identify trends, patterns and organised fraud activity
  • Support targeted fraud detection exercises (sampling, thematic reviews)
  • Work closely with claims, underwriting and fraud teams
  • Support reporting to & liason with an Gara Siochana
  • Conducting or contributing to learning teams for both the Counter Fraud team & other operational teams to raise awareness & technical knowledge.

Requirements:

  • +3 years Fraud Investigation experience (required)
  • Dip LA / ACILA / ACII (desired but not essential)
  • OSINT investigation skills (desired but not essential)
  • Social Media and Digital Footprint analysis
  • Analytical thinking and pattern recognition
  • Report writing for fraud cases
  • Knowledge of fraud typologies
