The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior KYC Analyst to join our Financial Crimes Compliance team. This contract role will support the Bank's Know Your Customer (KYC), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) programs by assisting with client onboarding, periodic reviews, sanctions screening, and ongoing compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) reviews for new and existing clients.
- Review and validate client documentation to verify identity, ownership structures, source of funds, and business activities.
- Perform sanctions, Politically Exposed Persons (PEP), and adverse media screening in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Support Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews for higher-risk customers and business relationships.
- Ensure customer records are accurate, complete, and maintained in line with regulatory and internal policy requirements.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and clients to obtain outstanding documentation and resolve KYC-related queries.
- Identify and escalation potential financial crime, sanctions, or reputational risks to senior members of the compliance team.
- Assist with periodic KYC reviews, remediation projects, and ongoing customer due diligence activities.
- Support transaction monitoring investigations and other AML-related activities as required.
- Maintain a strong understanding of AML, Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF), sanctions, and other relevant regulatory obligations.
- Assist with a variety of KYC, AML, and Financial Crimes Compliance initiatives and projects as needed.
About You
- Previous experience in KYC, AML, Compliance, Financial Services, Banking Operations, or an administrative role is desirable but not essential.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Law, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant compliance qualifications or a willingness to pursue certifications such as ACAMS or ICA are advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn and develop within Financial Crimes Compliance.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when required.
