OLE Engineer

Primary Location: ES - Madrid - C/Alfonso XII

Job Description

An OLE Engineer with expertise in basic design, tramway and HSR design will be based in the Madrid Enterprise Capabilities Offices. This role offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement with a mix of in‑office and remote schedules.

The successful candidate will be involved in OLE design activities for international railway projects and will work as part of the Railway Systems department, which includes over 50 multidisciplinary professionals. You may work on iconic transportation projects across Europe.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical reports, drawings, layouts, structural design and loading cases.
• Produce structural steelwork, wiring arrangements and bonding plans.
• Perform mechanical and geometric calculations for the OLE system.
• Work independently with new OLE design ranges.
• Create technical specifications.
• Establish interfaces with systems, disciplines and stakeholders.
• Attend interdisciplinary reviews.
• Manage quality control.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience.
• Previous experience in OLE/OCS projects on new electrification or renewals.
• Experience in the UK or Australia and understanding of the railway industry.
• Proficiency in CAD tools – MicroStation / AutoCAD.
• Desirable knowledge of structural assessment software and BIM environment.
• Capable of remote collaboration with global offices.
• Fluent in English; other languages welcomed.
• BEng or MEng in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status in the US, Canada, UK or Australia welcomed.
