Education & Experience
∙Education: Bachelors/Masters in Biotechnology, Bio-Chemical Engineering, or Life
Sciences. An MBA is a strong advantage.
∙Experience: 2–5 years of proven experience in life sciences industry
About the Role
The Techno-Commercial Sales Specialist serves as the vital link between Company's innovative portfolio and the specialized technical requirements of our customers. This role is not just about selling products; it is about understanding complex bioprocessing workflows and delivering science-backed, consultative solutions that drive efficiency in R&D and manufacturing.
This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at providing technical advisory and commercial excellence while engaging strategically with customers.
Responsibilities
Technical Advisory & Workflow Integration
- Conduct detailed assessments of customer manufacturing processes, specifically focusing on Upstream, Downstream, and Fill-Finish stages.
- Act as a solution architect, identifying process bottlenecks (e.g., yield optimization, contamination risks) and positioning Company's technologies to mitigate them.
- Guide customers through the adoption of innovative and alternate technologies to modernize their existing workflows.
Commercial Excellence & Account Management
- Own the end-to-end sales cycle: from lead generation and technical presentations to drafting comprehensive techno-commercial proposals.
- Maintain rigorous follow-ups with end-users, procurement departments, and external stakeholders to ensure high conversion rates.
- Manage existing accounts by ensuring recurring sales (consumables/spares) while hunting for new project opportunities.
Strategic Customer Engagement
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and decision-makers in the Biopharma, Vaccines and CGT sectors.
- Deliver high-impact technical demonstrations and seminars tailored to the specific scientific needs of the client.
- Provide regular market intelligence on competitor activity and emerging trends in the Indian bioprocess landscape.
Qualifications
Technical Competencies
Domain Expertise: Understanding of bioprocessing unit operations, including cell culture/fermentation, Single-Use Technologies (SUT), filtration (TFF/NFF), chromatography techniques, and aseptic liquid handling.
Required Skills
- Consultative Selling: A proven ability to sell "value and science" rather than just competing on price.
- Stakeholder Management: Comfortable navigating complex organizational structures, from lab scientists to procurement heads.
- Analytical Mindset: Proficient in sales forecasting, market mapping, and using CRM tools to track progress.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in the biopharma industry.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies in bioprocessing.
