Role Description:
The Dry / Electronic Fire Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Melbourne Area.
This position is responsible for inspecting, testing, maintaining, and repairing electronic fire protection equipment and systems, including FIP, EVAC, E&E Lighting and associated interfaces.
Day-to-day activities include conducting routine and regulatory compliance checks, identifying and troubleshooting faults, documenting service reports, and ensuring that all life safety and fire safety standards are met. The Fire Technician collaborates with clients and internal teams to schedule work, address service requests, and support safe building operations. The role requires adherence to industry regulations, company procedures, and site-specific safety requirements.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience working with all types of FIP & EVAC systems, including inspection, testing, and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of fire safety and life safety requirements, AS1851, and relevant regulations.
- Proven troubleshooting skills for identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues in fire protection systems.
- Relevant technical certification or trade qualification in fire protection, building services, or a related field.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, plans, and manufacturer specifications.
- Strong attention to detail, accurate record-keeping, and commitment to safety practices.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, contractors, and team members.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between sites within the Greater Melbourne Area as required.
- >3 years in the dry / electronic fire service experience is mandatory
