Legal Advisor-Team Manager

Legal Advisor will work as a part of the Warsaw and Krakow-based Aon Law team, providing support on a range of US law governed commercial contracts that facilitate Aons Human Capital and Risk Capital businesses in the US and managing a small team of Legal Advisors engaged in similar work

This role will report into the Head of Legal based in Warsaw andmay be performed from our offices in Warsaw or Krakow.

What the day will look like

  • Reviewing and negotiating contracts for Aon entities in the US in a domestic and international context across Aons Human Capital and Risk Capital businesses.
  • Working with the business on a range of client related issues such as tenders, cross border contracting structures and templates rationalization.
  • Providing legal advice and support to business colleagues on a range of contractual matters, including privacy terms, and complex client consulting and brokerage contracting .
  • Working together with the Aon Law team, business units, and other support functions (Compliance, Data Privacy, etc.) based in the US to ensure legal risk is managed appropriately.
  • Managing a small team of legal advisors engaged in similar work.
  • Proactively engage with management to identify risks and matters requiring escalation.
  • Support team infrastructure such as updating precedents and playbooks, undertaking research, and arranging, delivering, and attending training.
  • Working hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. CET.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • A minimum of five years working experience as an in-house counsel in a multinational organisation or an associate in a reputable law firm; some portion of that time spent serving in a managerial capacity
  • Fluent English.
  • Hands-on experience with UK or US commercial contracts, providing commercial legal advice, drafting and negotiating in the English language.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, escalating concerns appropriately.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • High level of self-direction and demonstration of good judgment.
  • Ability to create and deliver practical solutions that appropriately balance commercial objectives and legal risks, including incorporating the responsible use of AI.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously. Prior relevant experience in the financial services or consulting sector, including with respect to insurance regulations and laws, is an asset.
