A global long-only equity fund investing across the full market-cap spectrum with a dedicated focus on healthcare and biotech. The investment team is small and well-resourced, and this role represents the first dedicated analyst hire into the seat - meaning significant responsibility, direct exposure to senior decision-makers, and genuine ownership of ideas from day one. The mandate spans the full investment lifecycle, from origination through fundamental research to position sizing and portfolio construction, with scope to shape the analytical process as the team scales.

Day-to-day responsibilities include originating investment ideas across the global healthcare and biotech universe; conducting deep fundamental research on individual companies, sectors, clinical pipelines and regulatory pathways; combining qualitative and quantitative research techniques to build and stress-test conviction; supporting position sizing and portfolio construction decisions alongside the portfolio manager; and monitoring ongoing positions, catalysts and thematic developments across the space. The seat carries a level of autonomy and visibility unusual for its tenure - output is immediately actionable and directly shapes the portfolio.

The successful candidate will bring between one and five years of experience in a research or investment role - either from an asset management or sell-side equity research background, or from a scientific or clinical career with a genuine passion for investing. A Masters or PhD in a life sciences discipline is preferred. You will be comfortable applying both qualitative and quantitative research techniques to complex, high-technical-content situations, and equally at ease dissecting a clinical trial readout as building a valuation model.
