The Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a high-performing Finance team on a 3-4 month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hitting the ground running, adding value from day one, and working within a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you'll take ownership of the financial accounting function, ensuring accurate reporting, supporting key business initiatives, and maintaining strong financial controls across the business.
Please note: This role requires 2 days onsite on the Sunshine Coast each week.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing accurate and timely financial and management reports
- Maintaining the general ledger, including accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensuring the integrity of financial transactions across accounts payable, accounts receivable and the general ledger
- Supporting quarterly forecasting and the annual budgeting process
- Managing the external audit process and preparing statutory reporting, including financial statements and tax requirements
- Overseeing treasury activities, including cash flow management, supplier payments and foreign exchange forecasting
- Driving process improvements and partnering with stakeholders across the business to enhance financial performance
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- CPA or CA qualified
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or Financial Accountant
- Previous experience within FMCG, manufacturing or another fast-paced commercial environment will be highly regarded
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience leading projects or mentoring team members will be highly regarded
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
