Please Note: This is a Contract Position

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

  • Support Product Development activities such as sample preparation including blending, packing, and labelling.
  • Arrange for shipment and track samples as required.
  • Maintain fresh stock of ingredients by ordering materials, putting away inventory, recording lot numbers and expiry dates.
  • Maintain accurate records of briefs by updating and completing appropriately in system.
  • Under supervision, support Product Developers in application work and product evaluation.
  • Under guidance, produce finished products for internal and external customer evaluation.
  • Provide assistance to Product Developers with presentations.
  • Under guidance, assist with sensory panel execution, including set up, serving, clean up.
  • Purchase groceries and other supplies for Product Development.
  • Maintain sanitation and organization of the laboratory, following all safety policies, and maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • OSSD or equivalent
  • Experience working in a laboratory setting is an asset
  • Experience working in food processing/manufacturing is an asset
  • Basic knowledge of GMP, HACCP, Allergen and GLP procedures
  • Meticulous attention to small quantities and detail oriented
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel), also working knowledge of Microsoft Teams and Outlook
  • Knowledge of SAP is an asset
  • Ability to handle a wide variety of duties and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Flexible to work overtime as needed
  • Good math and problem-solving skills
  • Must possess a valid G driver’s licence
