Job Description
KVE is growing and we’re looking for a Teamlead Machining who is passionate about leading people in a high‑tech machining environment.
Your Role
In this role, you are responsible for coaching, guiding and developing the machining team, while ensuring a safe, efficient and high‑quality production flow. Together with planning, engineering and quality, you make sure our machined components meet aerospace‑grade standards and are delivered on time.
Your goal: Build a strong, skilled machining team and ensure reliable, high-performance operations.
What You Will Do
Lead daily machining operations
- Coordinate operators, CNC machinists and trainees.
- Manage production planning and team allocation.
- Detect and resolve disruptions in the machining process.
- Drive performance towards OEE, productivity and on‑time delivery targets.
Safeguard quality & process control
- Ensure compliance with work instructions and quality standards (EN9100).
- Analyse scrap and initiate corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Quality during audits and deviations.
Ensure safety & compliance
- Promote safety culture and enforce ARBO guidelines.
- Guarantee a clean, safe and well‑maintained workspace.
- Report and follow up on incidents or near‑misses.
- Oversee correct and safe use of machines, tools and equipment.
Develop your team
- Coach colleagues in technical and personal development.
- Conduct progress and performance reviews.
- Train, onboard and mentor new employees.
- Build collaboration, structure and team spirit.
- Lead and support Lean/5S improvement initiatives.
- Analyse downtime, setup times and inefficiencies.
- Contribute to process optimization and standardization.
- Provide input on investments in machinery or automation.
Throughout your work, you will apply and respect our EN9100 quality system, ensuring every deliverable meets aerospace‑grade standards.
Your Profile
Experience & Education
- MBO+ (Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Machining Technology or similar).
- 7–10 years of experience in machining (CNC turning/milling).
- Experience leading a production team.
- Experience in high‑tech machining environments.
- EN9100 experience is a plus.
- Composite machining experience is a plus.
Skills & Knowledge
- Machining techniques and CNC operations.
- Reading technical drawings and tolerances (ISO GPS).
- Using measurement tools for inspections.
- Basic Lean principles and 5S methodology.
- Working with ERP and production planning systems.
- Strong leadership and coaching mindset
- Problem solver with a hands‑on mentality
- Decisive and structured
- Proactive and stress‑resistant
- Responsible, reliable and team‑oriented
Additionally, you:
- Enjoy being on the shop floor as much as behind a CAD/CAM screen
- Know how to work with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing in a composite production environment
- Have a structured and curious mindset – you solve problems by testing, improving and validating
- Communicate easily with both engineers and technicians
- Have an EU nationality (due to security requirements for defense projects)
