Overview

Korn Ferry have partnered with a leading Mining, Material and Glass Recycling company with a significant global presence. Our client is seeking an experienced Senior AR/AP Specialist to lead Accounts Payable (Purchase-to-Pay) and Accounts Receivable (Order-to-Cash) activities within a dynamic finance function.


This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate processing of invoices, payments, collections, reconciliations, and financial reporting while maintaining strong internal controls and supporting cash flow performance. The successful candidate will act as a key business partner across finance, procurement, commercial, and operational teams, driving process improvements and ensuring operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary owner and gatekeeper of the Purchase-to-Pay process, identifying and driving process improvement opportunities.
  • Manage invoice receipt, validation, processing, and posting in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely payment execution while supporting working capital optimization objectives.
  • Maintain vendor master data integrity, including tax, banking, and contractual information.
  • Resolve escalations and issues with procurement, supply chain teams, and external vendors.
  • Monitor GR/IR balances, blocked invoices, and overall payment cycle effectiveness.
  • Oversee the end-to-end Order-to-Cash process and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Manage customer invoicing, cash application, and credit management activities.
  • Drive collection efforts and support the resolution of billing disputes.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging, Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), and bad debt provisions.
  • Partner with credit and collection teams as well as commercial stakeholders to support credit risk management and customer decisions.
  • Review accounting records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Maintain financial records through the verification, allocation, posting, and reconciliation of transactions.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Support and validate balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Contribute to month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Lead cash flow reporting activities during month-end close.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts, budgets, and financial projections.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports in accordance with IFRS and local statutory requirements.
  • Provide analysis and insight to support financial decision-making and business performance.
  • Coordinate information requests from internal and external auditors.
  • Support and manage the annual external audit process.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and governance requirements.


Candidate Profile and required work experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or shared services environments.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end Purchase-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash processes.
  • Experience working within complex, multi-functional business environments.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • ERP implementation or transformation project experience is advantageous.
  • Significant knowledge of Financial accounting principles

Language Requirements

  • Fluent English, written and spoken.
  • Fluent Brazilian Portuguese and fluency of the operating country, written and spoken.
