About The Role

An exciting opportunity is available within our EMEA Finance team for a Senior Accountant to join the Benelux Accounting team in the Amsterdam office. The role focuses on accounting and supporting business segments in reporting monthly P&L performance from revenue recognition through to EBITDA.

What You’ll Do

  • Participate in accounting for country finance activities, primarily revenue recognition.
  • Review sales contracts and ensure proper revenue recognition under ASC 606 for US GAAP and local GAAP.
  • Analyse product and revenue/expense streams to ensure proper system setup and revenue recognition.
  • Review revenue and expense ledgers with closing schedules; prepare revenue journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Create and analyse revenue-related reports.
  • Participate in monthly revenue estimates.
  • Evaluate and document revenue-related policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries for work in progress, accounts receivable reserves, bad debt provisions, payroll, prepaid expenses and expense accruals.
  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations in line with SOX requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual statutory accounts.
  • Manage intercompany loan schedules, record monthly interest accruals, and perform inter‑company reconciliations for multiple EMEA entities.
  • Assist the EMEA Finance team in the enhancement of month‑end processes.
  • Assist with the preparation, finalisation and filing of annual statutory accounts for Dutch entities.
  • Help with requests from the internal audit team for US GAAP testing and group‑wide audit requirements.
  • Participate in statutory audits of EMEA entities where required.
  • Review preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual VAT returns and EC Sales for Dutch entities, coordinate with outsourced accountants and tax advisors, and submit to authorities.
  • Reconcile VAT return to statutory accounts.
  • Support the Benelux Finance Director in managing all Netherlands and Nordic finance requirements.
  • Serve as the go‑to person for all accounting issues for the Netherlands, providing technical accounting, finance processes and approvals.

Basic Qualifications

  • Fluency in English.
  • Degree‑level education.
  • Qualified Accountant with multiple years’ experience.
  • Technical understanding of ASC606 / IFRS15 revenue recognition.
  • Experience liaising with external auditors.
  • Experience performing a month‑end close process.
  • Excellent Excel skills, including pivot tables and analysis formulas.
  • Knowledge of Dutch GAAP and USGAAP or IFRS.
  • Professional services experience.
  • Familiarity with reporting into a U.S. listed headquarters.
  • Experience working in a matrix organisation and with European subsidiaries.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in Dutch would be advantageous.
