About the role
This 12‑month maximum term contract supports the Supplier Management Lead in strengthening relationships with our Material Service Providers (MSPs) and ensuring compliance with APRA CPS 230. Working across the business, you will partner with internal stakeholders and suppliers to manage the full supplier lifecycle – from onboarding and contract governance through to ongoing performance monitoring and risk management. You will act as a trusted advisor on supplier management and procurement standards, helping the business navigate regulatory requirements while keeping supplier services aligned with strategic and operational objectives.
The role requires you to coordinate supplier onboarding activities, conduct due diligence and risk assessments, support incident management and issue escalation, and oversee supplier supervision and monitoring programmes. Working closely with business, risk, legal, cyber‑security, procurement and compliance teams, you will help ensure supplier arrangements meet BOQ’s operational, regulatory and technology standards, drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and minimise risk, and contribute to BOQ’s broader CPS 230 compliance framework by supporting annual supplier reviews, completing supplier scorecards, tracking remediation activities, facilitating governance meetings and monitoring supplier performance against agreed standards. The role also provides exposure to operational resilience activities, including control testing, tolerance level development and scenario testing.
Responsibilities
- Partner with internal stakeholders and suppliers to manage the complete supplier lifecycle.
- Coordinate supplier onboarding, due diligence, risk assessments and contract governance.
- Support incident management, issue escalation and oversee supplier supervision & monitoring programmes.
- Ensure supplier arrangements meet BOQ’s operational, regulatory and technology standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and minimise risk.
- Support annual supplier reviews, complete supplier scorecards, track remediation activities and facilitate governance meetings.
- Monitor supplier performance against agreed standards and contribute to the CPS 230 compliance framework.
- Engage in operational resilience activities such as control testing, tolerance level development and scenario testing.
Qualifications
- Proactive, relationship‑focused professional with demonstrated experience in supplier management, procurement, contract administration, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of governance, risk and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills to influence outcomes, navigate complex discussions and collaborate with stakeholders across business, risk, legal, compliance and supplier teams.
- Analytical and problem‑solving capabilities to assess risks, manage competing priorities and drive issues to resolution.
- Well‑organised, highly accountable, able to balance multiple deliverables in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining focus on quality and outcomes.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline are highly regarded; experience working within a regulated industry such as financial services is desirable.
- Passion for partnering with others, continually improving processes and contributing to a culture of strong supplier governance and operational resilience.
