BUSINESS UNIT DESCRIPTION:

Financial Crime & Enterprise Risk Technology is part of CIBCs Enterprise Technology Team, responsible for delivering innovative technology products and services that support the banks digital transformation. The team works at the forefront of enterprise-scale projects, leveraging leading-edge technologies to enable CIBCs business goals, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage risk.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Analyst Physical Security role is responsible for executing a variety of operational tasks related to Physical Security. The incumbent supports the team lead and senior management by providing operational expertise and reporting across the Network Security Portal, with a primary focus on the daily management and enhancement of Physical Security systems.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Integrate IoT devices (such as cameras and access control panels) with CIBCs Enterprise SaaS Security System.
  • Implement security controls for IoT devices to ensure compliance with CIBCs security standards.
  • Troubleshoot device issues and collaborate with other CIBC teams through incident management processes.
  • Document device status, progress, and configuration changes.
  • Coordinate with vendors to test and deploy security patches and firmware updates for devices.
  • Work closely with key business and technology partners to ensure business and client impact issues are well understood and addressed.
  • Build strong relationships and partnerships with technical team members, clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Lead discussions, listen, and ask questions to ensure problems/issues are identified and resolved.
  • Communicate detailed information in an impactful way, verbally and in writing.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Collaborates with internal IT, Network, and Security teams to resolve device issues and ensure seamless integration of security systems.
  • Works closely with vendors for testing and deployment of security patches and firmware updates.
  • Interacts with senior management for reporting and operational updates.
  • Engages with compliance and risk management teams to ensure security standards are met.

COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

AUTHORITIES/DECISION RIGHTS:

  • As a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to recommend changes to business processes in order to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

JOB DIMENSIONS

  • Supports the daily operation and enhancement of physical security systems across multiple CIBC locations.
  • Provides operational expertise to senior management and team leads.
  • Coordinates with vendors for device maintenance and security patch deployment.
  • Contributes to compliance and operational reporting within the Corporate Security Technology team.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Education:Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field.

Must have skills:

  • Proficiency in Windows OS administration, including user management, group policy, firewall configuration, and SMB.
  • Experience with Linux command line operations.
  • Solid understanding of basic networking concepts: IP subnetting, switches, routers, firewalls, and Access Control Lists (ACLs).
  • Familiarity with network security protocols such as HTTPS/TLS, 802.1x, and SSH.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Additional assets: Experience with IoT device configuration, cryptography/certificates, LDAP, and access control panels/cards.
  • Ability to manage relationships with technology and business partners.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This role operates within a normal office environment with little exposure to adverse working conditions.
