Overview

Job Description Summary: The role is responsible for managing the development and execution of marketing assets and programs to support Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans (BCBS) in positioning and selling various national programs and initiatives. The role leads or supports planning, developing and implementing marketing and communications that differentiate BCBS among key stakeholders, including business decision‑makers, key influencers, consumers/members and thought leaders. Understanding complex business needs and aligning marketing strategies to overall project goals is critical for success.

Responsibilities

  • Support copywriting and creative direction for various marketing deliverables (e.g., presentations, collateral, digital content)
  • Contribute to development of marketing strategies; implement marketing strategies, plans and tactics for a variety of BCBS national programs
  • Support the facilitation of the B2B Marketing Collaborative
  • Respond to a variety of ad‑hoc internal and Plan requests in a timely and professional manner, including taking a leadership role in tracking work and results for reporting
  • Ensure content is fresh on the Sales Support Toolkit, e.g., soliciting new content or developing it, posting content and tracking quantifiable results
  • Participate in brainstorming for larger‑scale, team‑based projects

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, new media or related field; or equivalent work experience (education)
  • 5+ Years marketing/communications planning and implementation experience, preferably in Healthcare (experience)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Project management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to develop and execute results‑driven communications that promote business strategies
  • Knowledge of grammar and composition principles to create effective writing for diverse audiences

Additional Requirements

  • Experience writing for a variety of communication vehicles including websites, multimedia, and print and online collateral; and market‑facing communications
  • Experience collaborating with internal business partners to ensure alignment and integration of key messages
  • Promotional writing skills
  • Previous experience in content marketing
  • Relevant industry experience, including marketing/sales support at a health‑care/insurance company, consultancy/brokerage, or similar in a related industry such as financial services
  • Experience identifying and integrating secondary research to drive marketing communications strategy development

Salary and Benefits

The posted salary range for this position is $92,787.88 - $122,529.02. The company may ultimately pay more or less than the hiring range and the range may also be modified in the future. A candidate’s position within the hiring range may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs.

This job is also eligible for annual bonus incentive pay.
