Position: Truck Driver

Location: 5/300 Main Road, Cardiff, NSW 2285

Salary: $79,000 - $85,000 per annum plus 12% superannuation

Hours: 38 hours per week

Employment Type: Full-time

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in relevant roles.

Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • Drive a truck to transport goods to assigned locations, adhering to traffic laws and company guidelines.
  • Oversee the loading and unloading of cargo, utilizing appropriate equipment and methods to ensure safe handling and placement.
  • Follow established safety procedures during loading, driving, and unloading to ensure the protection of cargo and vehicle integrity.
  • Conduct regular vehicle inspections and perform minor repairs as needed to maintain the truck in optimal working condition.
  • Manage and assess load weights to comply with legal weight limits and ensure balanced distribution for safe vehicle operation.
  • Secure all cargo properly and cover it as necessary to prevent damage or loss during transit.
  • Verify loading documents, inspect the condition of goods, and obtain delivery confirmations and necessary signatures.
  • Provide regular updates to dispatch and management regarding delivery status, any issues or delays encountered.
  • Interact with customers in a professional manner during deliveries, addressing any questions or special requests.
  • Adhere to delivery schedules and adjust routes based on traffic or weather conditions.
  • Report accidents, incidents, or vehicle issues to management immediately.
  • Participate in training programs to stay updated on industry practices and regulatory changes.
  • Assist with administrative and logistical tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in relevant roles.
  • Valid heavy vehicle license with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience as a truck driver with a strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Proficiency in operating various types of trucks and lifting equipment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina for long periods of driving and handling heavy loads.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
