Database Administrator – Dublin

• Cpl are partnering with a global cybersecurity organisation to appoint a Database Administrator for its new Irish technology operation. This role will be responsible for maintaining secure, reliable and well-governed data services that underpin a modern cyber-risk platform.
• The position is hybrid, with an average of three days per week in the Dublin office.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor and optimise production and non-production databases.
• Manage database performance, availability, capacity, replication, backups and recovery.
• Support schema changes, migrations, indexing and data-access processes.
• Implement strong controls around database security, privileged access, encryption and auditing.
• Maintain runbooks, recovery plans, operational documentation and change records.
• Work with software, data and infrastructure teams to deliver safe and reliable platform changes.

Requirements

• Strong database administration and SQL experience.
• Expertise in database performance tuning, backup and restore, disaster recovery and troubleshooting.
• Experience with database security, access controls, audit requirements and data lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with cloud-hosted relational and analytical data platforms.
• Scripting or automation experience using Python, Bash, Go or similar technologies.
• Strong documentation and change-management discipline.
• Candidates must have Irish/EU Citizenship.
• Must currently live within a commutable distance of Dublin.
