We're looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a large-scale Payroll Transformation Program within one of Australia's leading financial services organisations.

This is an opportunity to work on a complex enterprise transformation, partnering with Payroll, HR, Finance and Technology teams to improve processes, define requirements and deliver high-quality payroll solutions across a multi-year program.

The Role

As a Senior Business Analyst, you'll bridge the gap between business and technology, leading discovery, process mapping and requirements definition while supporting solution design, testing and implementation.

You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, product owners, architects, delivery teams and vendors to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and successfully transitioned into production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery workshops and capture business, functional and process requirements.
  • Analyse and improve payroll business processes across a complex enterprise environment.
  • Produce documentation including BRDs, user stories, process maps and functional specifications.
  • Define data requirements for analytics and reporting, including required fields for dashboards, reports and business insights.
  • Work closely with Solution Architects and technical teams to shape solution design.
  • Support system integration, UAT and production readiness activities.
  • Manage stakeholders across Payroll, HR, Finance and Technology.
  • Identify delivery risks, dependencies and continuous improvement opportunities.

What You'll Need

  • 6+ years' experience as a Business Analyst within complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience delivering Payroll, HR, ERP or Workforce Management projects.
  • Experience defining business requirements for reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Proven ability to facilitate workshops and translate business needs into functional requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across business and technology teams.
  • Experience supporting testing, UAT and implementation activities.
  • Hands‑on experience with Jira, Confluence, Visio or similar BA tools.
  • Experience working across Agile and Waterfall delivery environments.

Why Join?

  • Work on a high-profile enterprise Payroll Transformation Program.
  • Join one of Australia’s leading financial services organisations.
  • Long-term 6-month rolling contract with strong extension potential.
  • Competitive day rate of $900–$950/day + GST.
  • Sydney-based hybrid working (3 days office, 2 days WFH).

Please note: We cannot support relocation or visa sponsorship for this position. Candidates must already be based in Sydney.
