Network Technician

Responsibilities

• Configure network equipment: Router, Switch, Access Point;
• Provide support to field technicians for installation of network equipment;
• Perform operational tests on equipment and internet access;
• Contact network structure technicians and analysts to collect information on scheduled service appointments;
• Access ServiceNow/Remedy, SIGITM, SIGITM TA, and other tools to retrieve information and update the status of current and scheduled tickets;
• Identify deviations and engage supervisors and management to meet SLAs for Advanced Data products (Dedicated IP, MPLS, etc.);
• Validate that access release processes (technicians at service locations) are being followed;
• Update controls and create tracking files to facilitate follow-up of critical cases.

Requirements

• Experience performing connectivity tests on internet links;
• Assist field technicians by providing guidance on configurations to be made on network equipment;
• Experience following technical procedures to configure equipment: routers, switches and related devices;
• Basic knowledge of network protocols required (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, ISDN, R2, among others);
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
